Product Description
150-450mm Open Type 3 Roller Shipside Fairlead | JIS F2014 Rope Guide for Ship Mooring
Product Overview
Open type 3 roller shipside fairlead is designed for guiding mooring ropes along the ship side, bow or stern deck area where flexible rope lead-in and multi-direction rope control are required.
This page focuses on the open type 3-roller arrangement under JIS F 2014. The standard includes open double-roller, open three-roller, closed double-roller and closed three-roller forms; this product is the open type three-roller version.
Compared with closed type fairleads, the open structure has no top cover plate and allows easier rope lead-in from the outside deck. It is suitable for ship side mooring positions where rope direction may change during operation.
The rollers can be supplied as steel plate fabricated rollers or casting steel rollers. Although older standard references may include cast iron rollers, our supply scope normally uses casting steel for improved strength and durability.
The smooth roller surface and proper roller arrangement reduce friction, help protect rope surface and improve rope guidance during mooring operations.

FAQ
Q1: Why is this called open type fairlead?
A: It has no top cover plate above the rollers, allowing easier rope lead-in from the outside deck and better visual inspection.
Q2: What is the difference between open type and closed type?
A: Open type is designed for flexible rope entry, while closed type provides a more controlled rope path with a top cover structure.
Q3: Why use three rollers instead of two rollers?
A: Three rollers provide better rope direction control and more stable guidance when rope lead angles vary.
Q4: What is the difference between steel plate fabricated roller and casting steel roller?
A: Steel plate fabricated roller is a fabrication option; casting steel roller provides higher integral strength and is commonly preferred for current supply.
Q5: Can the product be customized?
A: Yes. Roller material, coating, dimensions, certification and installation details can be customized according to project requirements.
