Product Description
M Type Marine Rubber Fender With Polyethylene Plate Guard for Yacht Marine Rubber Fender
Product Overview
UHMW-PE Faced Rubber Fender for Yachts and Workboats is a compact vessel-mounted rubber fender with a low-friction polyethylene contact face. The supplied profile uses a moulded rubber body with a UHMW-PE facing plate fixed to the vessel-contact surface, reducing direct rubber-to-hull friction where repeated sliding contact may occur.
The supplied series includes two 240 mm wide nominal profiles with 100 mm and 120 mm rubber heights. The source drawing identifies UHMW-PE at the contact face and gives maximum listed unit lengths of 490 mm and 710 mm respectively.
Quick Specifications
- Product type: Vessel-mounted rubber fender with UHMW-PE contact face
- Nominal supplied profiles: 240 × 100 mm | 240 × 120 mm
- Maximum listed unit length: ≤490 mm | ≤710 mm
- Facing material: virgin black UV-stabilized UHMW-PE
- Primary application: yacht, workboat and vessel bow / side protection
- Contact principle: low-friction replaceable / mechanically fixed PE surface over rubber energy-absorbing body
Structure & Configuration
Moulded solid-rubber body | profiled front face | UHMW-PE facing plate / pad | mechanical fixing interface | vessel-side mounting base. The source product is not treated as the same product as the large international M-type tugboat fender family; its public page is therefore named by the actual UHMW-PE-faced construction rather than by the source model letter.
The UHMW-PE contact surface provides a lower-friction rubbing interface and improved wear resistance compared with direct rubber contact. The final PE thickness, countersunk fixing detail and fastener material are selected to suit the supplied fender geometry and vessel structure.
Main Technical Specifications:

| M240X120 | 240 | 172 | 120 | 35 | 25 | W710 |
Selection & Inquiry Guide
Step 1 – Confirm vessel type, bow / side location, available mounting width and required protected contact length.
Step 2 – Select the 240 × 100 or 240 × 120 profile according to available depth and replacement geometry.
Step 3 – Confirm UHMW-PE facing thickness, fixing method, fastener material and whether the facing must be replaceable in service.
Step 4 – Provide vessel-side backing structure / mounting drawing and required contact-load or rubbing-duty basis.
Step 5 – Confirm quantity, inspection/documentation scope, delivery destination and required delivery date.
Key Engineering Advantages
- UHMW-PE contact surface reduces friction and resists sliding wear at the vessel-contact face.
- Compact rubber profile provides compliance behind the PE rubbing surface for yacht and workboat protection.
- Two supplied heights allow selection for different available mounting depths without creating separate thin pages.
- Mechanical facing attachment allows the PE component and rubber body to be engineered as distinct service parts.
Installation & System Interface
The rubber body is fixed to the vessel-side support structure, with the UHMW-PE facing located on the contact face. Final bolt size, countersink detail, PE thickness, backing structure and corrosion protection are project-specific and must match the vessel drawing and expected rubbing loads.
Inspection & Documentation
Baseline quality control includes visual inspection, dimensional verification and rubber physical-property testing. No numerical reaction-force / energy-absorption claim is added where the supplied product material does not provide a reliable tabulated performance basis.
Current fender-system engineering guidance is used for project design and testing logic, while type approval, product certification, third-party witnessing and class documentation are stated only when the corresponding scope has been agreed and documented.
Applications
Yachts | workboats | service vessels | vessel bow protection | side rubbing strips | replacement low-friction fender installations

FAQ
Q1: Why use UHMW-PE on the contact face? — It provides a low-friction, abrasion-resistant rubbing surface that reduces direct rubber sliding contact.
Q2: Is this page the same as a conventional large M-type tugboat fender? — No. The supplied product is a compact rubber profile with UHMW-PE facing; the page intentionally avoids using another manufacturer's M-fender model system.
Q3: Is the PE thickness fixed? — The source product drawing does not state a standard thickness. It should be selected and confirmed for the actual contact load, wear allowance and fixing detail.
